Outbuildings: There are several stone outbuildings which are located to the side and rear of the first cottage. These stone buildings, most of which are open fronted, were originally used for storage and housing animals. One of the outbuildings has a large water storage tank inside.

The cottages are located on the outskirts of the village of Chãos in central Portugal. Chãos has several cafe bars, a butchers, bakery, mini-market and monthly vegetable market. The larger, historic town of Tomar, which is home to the UNESCO world heritage listed Convento do Cristo, is approximately 15 minute drive from Chãos. The property is easy to locate and has good access links to the IC3 Tomar to Coimbra road. The closest airport to the property is located at Lisbon, which is approximately one and a half hours' by car.
