The property is set over three floors and is large enough to be converted into a spacious holiday or permanent home.
Current owners have just carried out some major improvement works including the installation of a new, raised roof. The property is set over three floors though traditionally the living accommodation would have been only on the ground floor, though there is scope for extending into the basement and attic if required to create additional bedrooms and living space.
The property is set on a quiet country road and has good views of the valley to the rear. The property has been constructed in stone and has walls, which measure approximately 60 centimetres in thickness. The current owners have connected the property to both mains water and electric and made provision for new cabling for modern, electricity supply to the interior.
The roof of the property has also been raised and replaced with modern standard materials including insulation. The main entrance to the property leads directly into the original living room of the property. Off this living room there are two bedrooms, both of which have original wooden floors which do require attention. At present there is no bathroom or kitchen within the property, though due to the renovation works the current owners have completed, these would be easy to install.
The basement level of the property has only been used for storage purposes and has a dirt floor, exposed stone walls and a wooden beamed ceiling, but has sufficient height to be converted into additional living space. The attic is of habitable roof height since the raising of the roofline though would still require work to make into habitation. All of the works carried out by the current owners has been done under a reconstruction license.
There are two additional, single storey attached buildings to the cottage, which do require some repair. These would also make storage or additional living space. At the rear of the ground floor, there has been an extension constructed. This would be the perfect location for the property's kitchen as it takes in the view of the valley. Below and to the side of this extension there is an additional building which requires re-roofing. By re-roofing this with a flat roof, would create an excellent terrace accessed from the living space and kitchen.
The property's land is on a slope, though there are areas which are terraced. There are a variety of mature olive trees in situ and plenty of space for a vegetable and patio garden and a car parking space could be created to the front or side of the cottage. The property is situated approximately four kilometres from Alvaiazere and the closest airport to the property is situated at Lisbon, which is around one and three quarter hours' drive.
